JRMS Club Information, Start Dates, and Registration Deadlines:  
Art Club: Art Club will take place in the spring and will be open to students in grades 5-8 (maximum of 25 students). Announcements in the Peek of the Week, via ListServ, and notices to homerooms will go out prior to the start.  Art Club will meet in Room 212. Chamber Choir: Meets weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays before school at 8:20. Chamber Ensemble ( Strings): Beginning on 10/1/19 at 8:00 - 8:50 a.m. (Students should arrive 5 to 10 minutes early)- It will meet Tuesday mornings with Mr. Larry Deming. Chess Club: Open to 5th – 8th graders. Beginners to Experts are welcome to participate.  In Chess Club we play many different types of chess (Tag-Team Chess, Zombie Chess, Tic-Tac Check, 4-Way Chess, Gaga-ball Chess, and even Four Square Chess).  Friendly games to intense choose!  The club takes place in room 171 before school on Fridays from 8:00-8:45 AM (stop by any time).  Please listen to the announcements each week for possible schedule changes when staff meetings land on Friday mornings Computer Club: Meets before school at 8:00am in room 118. As a club we work together to learn technology skills of our choice. Popular topics include animations, manipulating photographs, Makey Makey, coding , 3-d printing and more. Debate Club: Begins 10/21/19 from 3:45 - 5:00 after school in room 202. Open to all 7th and 8th Graders Homework Club: Begins 9/10/19  after school from 3:50 - 5:20 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the Learning Commons. Jazz Ensemble: Meets weekly before school on Mondays and Thursdays before school at 8:20
JRMS Players: 2020 JRMS Musical is May 7-9. Auditions will begin in March Maker Space: Meets during IE from 9:03am-9-36am in the Learning Commons.  Please sign up through the Learning Commons Website  Morning Gym: Open Gym begins Wednesday 9/11/19 before school at 8:20 a.m. Open Gym will meet every morning before school Except Tuesday's.  Please check Calendar on website and/or follow our Twitter feed @jrmsFPAToday for Morning Gym cancellations Outreach: Begins on 9/11/25 before school at 8:25a.m. in room 113 PE Leaders: Meets every other Tuesday during IE from 9:03am-9-36am. PE Leaders are for 8th graders only. 8th graders must complete and application to be eligible to participate. Application Deadline: Friday September 13,2019 Application
School Climate: Meetings will be once a month in room 222. This is open to all students interested in helping the community members fee welcome at JRMS!
Spirit Club:  Open to grades 5-8. Members Help to plan, organize, and assist in JRMS Spirit Days and School Wide Events. Begins on 9/26/19 before school at 8:25am in room 137. Membership forms are due by 9/20.  Spirit Club will meet once a month. Membership Form Student Council: Begins on 9/11/19 in room 174. Meetings are held either before school from 8:25am - 9:52am or during IE from 9:03am-9-36am.   Please fill out membership form on Student Council website Tiger Telegraph: Begins on 9/5 Before school at 8:20a.m. in room 172 Video Gaming Club: an opportunity for members to play some of their favorite video games together.  Members will be able to play everything from Tetris on the original Nintendo to Mario Kart on the Wii.   Computers will be available for gaming.  Members are welcome to bring in their own games and devices to play, although no Rated-M games are allowed.  The club takes place in room 171 after school on Fridays until 4:45 PM.  Please listen to the announcements each week for possible schedule changes. Wingman: Meeting could be before school, during IE, and after school. Meets in room 222 Yearbook:
Yearbook is designated for 8th graders only. The Yearbook staff is comprised of editors and photographers and any 8th grader interested in participating should attend an informational session on Tuesday September 17th during IE and applications will be due on Monday, 9/23. Yearbook meeting take place on Friday mornings at 8:20 and will begin late September or early October. Yearbook Staff application (Grade 8 only) Yearbook Recognition Ads Young Poet's Society: For grades 7 & 8. Students will have opportunities to read and write poetry/Lyrics/music.
