JRMS HOMEWORK CENTER
Click Here for a Permission Slip

Beginning Monday the 3rd of October!

 What is the homework center?

The purpose of the program is to provide a quiet place where students can do homework, study for upcoming tests and quizzes, work on long term projects, and get assistance with all of their tasks. Two teachers will be present to help students organize materials, check homework agendas, assist in understanding the subject matter, and prepare for tests by helping to create study guides and quizzing students on the material. Pairs of students enrolled in the 7th grade Peer Partner Program will be encouraged to attend the Homework Center together, as well as students working on group projects. This will give students a time to work with their group members after school.

How do students sign up?

The homework center will run on a first come, first serve basis. We will accept a maximum of 20 students per day. A sign-up sheet with twenty openings will be posted outside the main office. Each Friday, sign-up sheets for the following week will be posted, and students can sign up at any time. As soon as the twenty openings are filled, the sign-up sheet will be taken down. If a student signs up and then determines that he/she cannot attend, he/she must notify the teachers as soon as possible to allow other students to take the opening. Students will be required to present teachers with a signed permission slip on the first homework center session that they attend. Students only need to submit a permission slip on their first homework center session. The permission slips will be kept on file.

Do students have to come every day?

No. Students should only sign up when they want assistance with specific assignments or have homework to complete.

When and where will the homework center run?

The homework center will run after school from 3:45 – 5:15 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays in the library. Students are not permitted to leave before 5:15. If they cannot stay the whole time, they should not attend that day. Students must be in the library by 3:45 with all of their materials and ready to work. The homework center will not meet on minimum days. Students MUST be picked up no later than 5:15 pm outside the library doors.
